Friends of Friends: Reviews & Ratings
I went in for coffee and a snack and was pleasantly surprised. The interior is stylish. Everything is well thought out and clean. My friend and I found a cozy table. The atmosphere is calm and well suited for a short break or meeting with friends, as well as for working. Nice music is playing in the background. I ordered a latte - it was delicious, smooth, with well-steamed milk and no bitterness. They have their own roastery, which is definitely a big plus. I also tried a burger with a mushroom patty - the taste was interesting and well balanced. Fresh bread and good ingredients. I liked it. The service was fast and polite. If you are in the neighborhood, this place is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back here for sure.
Entering the shop was great, the decoration, the hospitality, and the lay out of the place is cool. I ordered a Nana’s Mocha and A$AP Yams. The mocha was delicious, the chocolate aspect is great since they use actual cocoa and you can taste it. The sweetness level is good since I like to taste the sweet, but also have the coffee taste and scent hit me. Perfect proportions on the Nanas! Now, I always like to try different coffee shops and their signature or seasonal options, that being said A$AP Yams was unlike any other coffee i’ve had. It’s a yams and sweet potato coffee with orange zest which you can taste for sure, but it’s subtle enough that you know it’s still coffee. I had it with oat milk as well. The sweetness and coffee taste mixed beautifully. Everyone should try this creation at least once! The milk foam art was crazy as well, very talented. I’ve been looking for coffee shops that hit my standards on how I like my coffee and I think I might have found one of them.
Great quality food that is well worth the price. Lots of drinks to choose from. Great place to sit down and bunker down on work or relax. Restrooms (2) are clean and have urinals too! Single use, not shared.
The menu is a bit limited but still there are great options. I took a class at the 10k coffee lab a few months ago and that’s how I stumbled on this little gem. My daughter got a hot chocolate and I can’t remember which latte I got but it was DELISH! There’s plenty of seating. Great vibe here! Staff is very pleasant!
Loved it! If I was to ever open up a coffee shop this would be the model example. Cool vibes, ample seating, eclectic decorations all rolled in one. On top of that the food was amazing and coffee even better. The person at the register recommended the Piloncillo and it did not disappoint, exactly what I needed to start my day. Then to pair it I got the Oxford comma minus the jam (personal choice). Check this place out if you are ever in the area and I might go back to check out the afternoon vibes
Favorite new coffee spot in SD county. Stumbled into National City by way of adventure and curiosity, as well as wanting to support a different demographic of business owners in our city. F* - the aesthetic of the shop reminds me of my hometown, punk meets artistic and bespoke (If Brixton had a coffee brand). The food offerings look incredible and I will definitely be back. Got a classic cup of coffee with half and half. Hit the spot and I’ll definitely sample other signature beverages next time. I love the glass window allowing customers to gaze into their coffee worklab, as well as their vinyl collection and player! Keep up the good work. Best of luck and success to you!!!
Wow the drinks here are really tasty. Don’t get fooled, it tastes sweet like dessert but the strength sneaks up on you. You can get cold or hot. Buko Pandan Latte (cold)-the Pandan was bold, perfect sweetness, tasted the espresso Uncle Ace (cold) - seasonal. Orange blossom and vanilla. Tasted honey and orange peel B.S. palo santo (hot) - I got it hot to taste more of the spices. Remind me of a Mexican coffee or mazapan with nutty brown sugar flavor. Be prepared to stand in a line. Took 30 mins from start to finish. The vibe is very trendy hipster-ish. Has old school vintage vinyls, tape player, Dee jay on certain nights. In the back there was a flash tattoo vendor kind of like Henna tattoo. Another vendor in the corner promoting jewelry. Nice neighborhood cafe with quality drinks. They sell food and other canned drinks like juice, beer, cider, soda. Great space with seating inside and out. It’s all street parking. The 3 green spots in front are 30 minute limit except for Sundays.
Out on coffee date with myself and this is one my locations on my list, its a beautiful Saturday morning I arrived at 11am and already parking was a tad difficult. As I walked in I have to say the energy and surroundings of the place are welcoming with good energy. It’s a bit loud with music never bothers me, plenty of seating some outside. I love the plant decor and the service and selection on the menu was impressive. I ordered a palo santo hot latte and a bagel. Now the latte was creamy somewhat sweet and probably the best latte I’ve ever had. The bagel was a decent a bit crunchy but surprisingly creamy in the center well combined with the egg and cream cheese. I enjoyed my latte and bagel with the amazing surroundings of the place its a well known place it gets really busy and noticed a lot of buko pandan lattes and tots are very popular may try on my next visit.
